ACID REFLUX

Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or “GERD”, is said to affect up to 20% of the population (1), while the majority of non-suffering Americans will still struggle with occasional bouts of acid reflux.

It’s uncomfortable, it can be painful, it can make you dread mealtimes, and it can seriously impact your sleep and digestive health. But there are also long-term implications as repeated and untreated bouts of acid reflux have been known to cause Barrett’s Esophagus, a condition that can be a precursor for esophageal cancer.

Acid reflux that is not treated can also lead to respiratory problems, esophageal inflammation (known as esophagitis (2), and narrowing of the esophagus. This is a growing problem, and while there are effective reflux medications on the market, they may be more dangerous and damaging than the thing they were designed to cure (more on that below).

We created Detox Organics because we wanted a natural, simple, effective solution for reflux that did not cause additional side effects. This scientifically formulated superfood works by regulating your bowel movements and soothing your digestive tract, both of which can gradually reduce long-term reflux. But it also helps to neutralize the acidity of your stomach, instantly easing your reflux.**

Try Detox Organics for an effective, natural, gentle way to combat reflux and GERD.

WHAT CAUSES REFLUX?

We all experience a little reflux now and then. The biggest triggers are acidic food, alcohol, smoking, caffeine and dairy.

If you consume these on a regular basis then you may suffer from reflux more than the average person. But for some people it only takes one lemon, one alcoholic drink or the smallest amount of butter to trigger reflux.

It is far more common in people who are:

• Overweight
• Pregnant
• Taking Certain Medications
• Smokers
• Heavy Drinkers

And it also presents itself more frequently in people who drink a lot of caffeine and abuse recreational drugs, as well as people who suffer from frequent constipation. As far as the latter is concerned, it may be the result of a build-up of pressure, but it could also be that the cause of constipation is also the cause of the reflux.

REFLUX vs GERD

There are two types of reflux: gastroesophageal reflux, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. Both are acid reflux and both can present with the same symptoms, the difference is in the severity and the frequency, which in turn could be the result of everything from predispositions to malfunctioning esophageal sphincters.

Reflux is the result of the stomach acid making its way into the esophagus. In some cases it can enter the throat, causing burning, scarring and respiratory problems, but in most cases it simply produces a feeling of intense nausea, with the patient feeling like they about about to vomit acid.

It’s unpleasant in all cases, but at its most severe it can be debilitating.

HOW DETOX ORGANICS ALLEVIATES REFLUX

Detox Organics contains a unique, 3-phase blend to detoxify, alkalize and support. The second phase of this blend helps to reduce stomach acidity, combining potent superfoods like spinach, kale, broccoli, and spirulina with nutrient-dense coconut water to restore healthy pH levels and stop reflux in its tracks.

In addition, the digestive support phase helps to ease digestive issues like indigestion, constipation, diarrhea and gas, all of which can lead to excessive bloating and internal pressure, which is a contributor to GERD.

A daily dose of Detox Organics could be all your body needs to kick reflux out of your life for good.

The Dangers of Acid Reflux Medication (WARNING!)

All medications have side effects and we’re not here to argue against western medicine or to claim that you don’t need prescription medication in your life. However, some medications have been linked to horrific side effects that should at least make you question your prescription, and proton pump inhibitors are one such medication.

These drugs are commonly used to treat GERD and intermittent bouts of reflux. They are effective, but according to recent research they may also be slowly killing the people who use them.(3).

As of yet, no direct link between PPI consumption and illness has been found, but there are many concerning correlations. In one comprehensive study based on the medical records of 275,000 prescribed PPI’s, researchers noted that the risk of death increased by 25%.

This was true when compared to the general population, but also when compared to H2 blocking drugs. In fact, researchers found that when these drugs were used for a year or more, the risks associated with the PPI group increased by 50%.

These drugs have also been linked with kidney disease, dementia, increased risk of bone fractures (4), and more. No one is entirely sure why this is the case or why there is such a notable increased risk of early death, but this should be enough to warn others away from the drug.

Of course, if you rely on PPI’s and can not get the same benefits from anything else, whether it be a healthy diet, a supplement like Detox Organics or even a H2 blocker, then you should continue to take them. The risks may be higher, but less is known about these risks than is known about the damage that continued, untreated reflux can do, and the former may be preferable to the latter.

If you’re young and you’re experiencing reflux on a regular basis, it’s time to make some drastic lifestyle changes to ensure you never reach a stage where only PPI’s and other harmful drugs can save you from the burn.

BEATING REFLUX WITH A HEALTHY DIET & LIFESTYLE

Detox Organics is the first step to keeping reflux at bay. It provides an instant injection of 25 superfoods, giving your body the nutrients, the enzymes, the probiotics and the fiber it needs to breakdown food properly and ensure optimal health.

It’s one scoop, once-a-day, and it could save you from the ignominy of acid reflux as well as the dangers of proton pump inhibitors. It also tastes great, so there is no excuse not to try it.

You should also try to implement the following in order to cure GERD naturally and make sure you are never exposed to PPI’s, Barrett’s Esophagus, respiratory problems, and all the other issues associated with acid reflux:

  • Drink plenty of water. It helps to dilute the stomach acid.

  • Avoid acidic foods and eat more whole foods.

  • Limit your intake of alcohol and stop smoking. Passive smoking can also trigger reflux, so stay away from smoking rooms.

  • Cut back on coffee and caffeine, both of which are known triggers.

  • Try apple cider vinegar or Manuka honey. It may seem counterintuitive, but they work for some sufferers.

  • Keep your body elevated, don’t eat lying down (don’t lie down after you eat either) and try to sleep on your left side.

  • Wear loose clothing, especially around your midsection.
